Students in Year 9 are set one homework task per week in English, Maths and Science and one homework task per fortnight in other subjects. The duration of each task is approximately 45 minutes. Homework will be set in class and appear on Show My Homework. You will be able to see what work has been set and the due date.
Assessment and reporting
Students in year 9 are currently set according to the results of their assessments carried out at Christmas of Year 8 as this is the most recent assessment data available. Year 9 assessments will take place week beginning 9th November, following the results of these students may change sets. In English this is assessed alone and then setting will be adjusted accordingly. Maths and Science assessment results are combined which then leads to the setting for these classes.
Internal assessments will also take place in the weeks beginning: 9th November 2020; 4th January 2021; and 18th January 2021.
Reports will be sent home in the weeks beginning: 14th December 2020 and 15th March 2021.
Parents’ Evenings will take place, subject to covid-19, in late January. Dates are yet to be confirmed.
