This morning saw the official launch of The Wye Tree Trail that our students helped put together.

To create the trail we had to explore our local trees, research interesting tree facts, take photographs and then design a leaflet, including a map. TCV based at the Singleton Environmental Centre have printed the leaflets as part their five year Kent Heritage Trees Project.

For the launch we were met by TCV Education Officer Natalie Breden, Phil Cook ABC Tree Officer and Linda Cross the previous Tree Officer. The students confidently led the group and talked about the trees on the trail. Along the way Phil and Linda told us many more fascinating tree facts and pointed out some rare trees.

The trail should take about an hour, is a gentle walk and hopefully you will learn something new along the way.

We are hoping to distribute leaflets at the Wye Farmers Market, Wye library and Ticketyboo, who are the tourist information point for the village.
