On Friday 11th November we invited sixteen of our most enthusiastic Science and Computing Year 8 and 9 students to take part in a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) Robot Challenge. It was led a representative from the car company Ford. Supported by Mr Curry and Miss Phillips, students were set programming challenges to make their Edison robots follow guided routes and synchronised dances. Using computer programming code, the activities build up to the students making a route for their robot to carry out a diamond heist!

Bethany Wood ‘It was really good to experiment with the robots and see what they could do.’

James Boyd ‘I found it really interesting learning how to programme the robots because it is not something you would do every day’.
