Combined Cadet Force

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) is a youth organisation, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence (MOD), which operates in schools. Its aim is to "provide a disciplined organisation in a school so that students may develop powers of leadership by means of training to promote the qualities of responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness, endurance and perseverance".

Ashford School and Wye School CCF is a joint section. It is open to all Year 8-13 Wye School students and gives our cadets opportunities to take part in activities that will take them out of their comfort zones but in a professional and safe environment. Being a member of Ashford School and Wye School’s CCF will give cadets many opportunities to try new skills, life skills ranging from gliding to receiving an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

How much does it cost?

Activities are free of charge, with activity costs borne by Ashford School and Wye School CCF. However, there is a small enrolment fee for new cadets and existing cadets:

1.    New cadets will be asked to pay a one off fee (approximately £100*) – this is to purchase boots and other essential safety equipment.

2.    Existing cadets will be asked to pay approximately £50* per year – this is to offset all activities and weekend training camps held throughout the year.

*The exact fee is determined each academic year and will be communicated as part of the application process.
