End of an unusual term

As we enter the Easter holidays, Wye School ends what has been a very unusual term. We have, like all schools, been partially closed by the national response to the Coronavirus. Staff have been setting work for students at home, and, providing childcare on site for those that need it. We have donated our Science goggles to local NHS services and been distributing vouchers and work packs to families. For the Easter break we are collaborating with two local primary schools to provide childcare each week day.

Margaret Williams, Chair of Governors, and Luke Magee, Principal, both extend their warm thanks to all staff, students and parents/carers for the amazing team work that has seen Wye School cope so well with events to date. We do not know how long this will last but we do know we will get through it together.

Whilst the humans on the school site have been experiencing these unusual times, nature has carried on regardless. Common Lizards have appeared on the school field, not something we see when it has 500 teenagers on it. Pheasants have colonised the playground. And a huge display of wild Primroses in the woods bordering the school site has leant a beautiful scent to the air. Spring has definately arrived.
